Do you know how much money people can make working in digital marketing in Myanmar?
Early in my digital marketing career, a constant interview question was:
"What salary expectations do you have for this role?"
Knowing industry benchmarks is crucial for confident negotiation. This article offers tips to navigate salary discussions with potential employers.
First, let's talk about Digital Marketing Specialists. This is an entry-level job in digital marketing.
In Myanmar, Digital Marketing Specialists can earn between 288,860 and 745,940 Myanmar Kyats per month.
That's a good salary range for someone just starting out in this field. Jobs that pay less than this range aren't really fair for all the work a digital marketing specialist does.
As you gain more experience and get promoted, your salary can increase quite a bit.
For example, a Digital Marketing Manager, who is in charge of leading a team and managing campaigns, can make between 750,000 and 1,342,363 Myanmar Kyats per month.
But it doesn't stop there! If you work your way up to an even higher position, like a Digital Marketing Head, your salary can be even higher. Digital Marketing Heads in Myanmar can earn between 1,400,000 and 1,966,530 Myanmar Kyats per month!
Now, it's important to note that some of these salary numbers are estimates. I got information from Paylab's Myanmar Salary Comparison data at myanmar.paylab.com, but I also had to make some educated guesses for certain positions.
Still, these numbers should give you a good idea of how much you can potentially earn working in digital marketing in Myanmar. The key things to remember are:
Entry-level salaries should be at least 350,000 MMK per month.
As you gain experience and get promoted, your salary can increase significantly.
This article is intended to provide a general overview of salary ranges for digital marketers and HR professionals in Myanmar. The information presented here is based on internet research and may not be entirely accurate or comprehensive.
It is important to remember that actual salaries will vary depending on a number of factors, including:
Skills and experience: Professionals with in-demand skills and extensive experience will typically command higher salaries.
Work experience: Those with a longer track record in their field can expect to earn more than those who are just starting out.
Work setting: Salaries may differ between full-time, part-time, remote, and onsite positions. Remote positions may offer some flexibility but may also come with a lower salary compared to on-site positions.
Company size and industry: Larger companies and those in certain industries may be able to offer more competitive salaries.
Location: Salaries can vary depending on the specific city or region within Myanmar.
Focus on Value
Highlight the values you can bring to the company. Research the company's size, industry, and location to understand typical salary ranges.
Highlight Your Achievements
Quantify your past accomplishments to demonstrate your impact. Did you increase website traffic, improve conversion rates, or manage successful social media campaigns? Frame your salary request around the value you'll deliver.
Negotiate with Confidence
Be prepared to discuss your qualifications and salary expectations clearly and professionally. Having this information at hand empowers you to negotiate effectively.
